To test a skill, a player must have bought a skill that it stems off. Once enough experience has been gained, it will be converted to a whole Skill Point which can be traded for a skill. As you perform the profession, you will gain experience points in that profession. Skill points must be earned by training in a particular profession. It's preferred to max a Skill Tree in one class than to dilute your points on lower skills across multiple classes.
